Patio sun screens can dramatically reduce the heat indoors during the summer. Solar screens work by blocking the sunlight from entering your home and keeping it cooler. They are available in a variety of colors; the most popular ones are black. The screens are made of polyester material – sometimes coated with PVC and can be mounted directly on a conventional patio screen frame. Some newer patio windows have channels on which the screens can be mounted.
Use a tape measure to measure the width of the patio frames in which solar screens fit. Buy sun screens that match these widths. And then measure to the nearest 1/16 inches and order from a reputable supplier. Install the patio sun screens locking channel if your patio screen is a newer model. Then place the top of the sun’s screen in the upper channel, allowing the springs to snap tight. And also carefully place the lower part of the screen in the bottom of the window. Tabs on the screen should snap into place once properly mounted.

If your patio window does not include lock channels, you may need to replace windows with glass already treated with a solar screen. Windows is held in place by black rubber called spline. Use a screwdriver to loosen the spline and remove the windows. And then replace with patio sun screens, again with a screwdriver to place the screen in place within the spline.
